Smith & Wesson Security Solutions Announces Successful Certification Tests of New Post & Cable Passive Barrier System
FRANKLIN, Tennessee, August 27, 2012 – FutureNet Security Solutions (FNSS), a leading turn-key provider of perimeter security solutions, today announced that the company has successfully completed third party certification testing to American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards for its new proprietary post and cable passive barrier system in both 50 foot and 200 foot barrier widths. These two tests provide FNSS with the only post and cable barrier system available today in a range of certified widths.
In independent third-party crash tests conducted on June 8 and August 3, the FNSS post and cable barrier system successfully met the ASTM F2656-07 M50 P2 standard. In each test, the barrier system stopped a 15,000 lb. truck traveling 50 miles per hour with less than 23 feet of penetration. FNSS President Wes Foss commented on the successful tests, stating that “we are excited to bring a passive barrier system to market that provides superior value to our clients in a range of certified widths. I am confident that FNSS has delivered a high-quality system to the marketplace that meets a clear need with the successful testing of our M50 post and cable system.”
FNSS, formerly known as Smith & Wesson Security Solutions, is a leading innovator in the perimeter security industry and designed its post and cable barrier system with the client/installer in mind by using bored foundations, corrosion resistant coatings, corner posts that do not extend beyond the barrier perimeter, and 10 foot on-center line post spacing to provide clients with the lowest cost, most flexible installation of any passive barrier available today. Available in certified widths from 50 to 200 feet, the FNSS post and cable barrier system is well suited for a variety of applications at Department of Defense installations, Federal Agencies, and at commercial facilities such as data centers and petrochemical processing plants.
